The weekend kicked off on the Friday night with Paula’s
Palace taking on Scott’s Watford. Watford went two up early on but Palace
fought back to claim a point with the game finishing 2-2. At the top of the
league, Keith’s Cardiff were held to a 0-0 draw by struggling Andy’s
Huddersfield. However, his margin at the
top of the table was extended due to Amy’s Hull losing 1-0 at Dan’s Brighton
and Pete’s Leicester losing 2-1 at Peterborough. Colin’s Middlesbrough were
given a further dent for their promotion chances losing 3-2 at home to
Barnsley.
At the Bottom, Marg’s Bolton claimed a much needed 2-1 win
over Anna’s Burnley whilst Kelly’s Bristol City’s remarkable run continued with
a 2-0 win over Mick’s Forest to put her in touching distance of safety. The
game between Sheffield Wednesday and Jim’s Derby ended 2-2 after a 2nd
half fight back from Wednesday. The game between Sue’s Wolves and Dave’s Leeds
also ended 2-2. Chris’ Birmingham scored a last minute equaliser against Jane’s
Charlton to end the game 1-1. Lyn’s Blackpool managed to put daylight between
herself and the relegation pack with a 2-1 win over Millwall. Finally, Shirley’s
Blackburn won 1-0 over Jan’s Ipswich, who incidentally were the only team in
the relegation battle to not score a point this weekend.
