From last week's new manager at Mick' Nottingham Forest we are looking at the longest serving manager in the Championship. There are looking at two that have managed a massive three seasons each and of the two have chosen Lyn's Blackpool - inspired by the lone supporter spotted in London last week and not just because of the 100% record.
Ian Holloway, a man the sports interviewers like for random comments was appointed in May 2009. A summery feel is in their nicknames with the 'seasiders' and 'the pool' being two of them but whilst you maybe forgiven for thinking their home kit is orange, they haven't been tangoed - their nicknames include Tangerines as that is the official colour of their kit. There sponsors are Wonga - will we see Newcastle supporting Ant & Dec in Blackpool shirts instead? Incidentally their new 125th Anniversary Shirt which is blue is also their new third kit for this year. Is blue more Lyn's colour?
Similar to Mick and the Cough era, Blackpool had fourteen years with Sir Stanley Matthews in the squad something to note in the history books. More recently they made history as the first team to be promoted from every division via the play-offs although they failed to escape the Championships into the Premiership last season losing to Mick's West Ham.
Trams still run, lights are good and the Big one is up there along with lots of tacky seaside amusements. When are we going up there?
sounds like a plan for a weekend away maybe the the pool supporter could sort it out count me in anybody else up for it
