CCC - Results & updates

Friday 24th August

Margs2Mick2

After Mick's (non) prediction of first scorer and score, he failed on both accounts as his team visiting Margs took an early lead before that advantage was cancelled out and then saw his team go behind before securing a point on 57 minutes. Still think you should have given all three points to me Mick :-)

Match of the Day!

Well the match of the Day was a bad choice with the match described as uninspiring and it was the only goal-less meeting of the Championship this weekend. Bad choice!

Jane0Amy0

There were comfortable home wins for Andy over Anna and Scott over Chris. However, when I say comfortable they were ok but nothing in comparison to Dan's 5-1 win over a Barnsley and Lyn's magnificent demolition of Jan - spurred on by Jan's 13th minute own goal, Lyn forged ahead and inflicted a 6-0 hammering over Jan. Will that score line be beaten in the Championship this season or have we seen the pinnacle from this week's team of the week?

Other wins by narrower margins (but less face it is the points and not goal difference that matters to us), was Shirley's 2-1 win over Pete after a 79th minute winner, Dave's 2-1 away at Peterborough and Ted's 3-2 over Millwall, clinched with an injury time winner.  Sue was unlucky to draw at home to Derby as the away team scored their goal in the 90th minute, whilst Keith lost at Bristol City and Paula remains bottom of the pile without a point after an away defeat at Colin's.  Start saving those pennies Paula!

Despite losing again, Paula's pence in the pound has fallen by 0.4p as Lyn's surge at the top has caused an increase for the pack (be it all of less than one pence).

  1. Just watched the Football League Show. Turns out Shirley's first goal was possibly offsideand Pete's disallowed goal shouldn't have been. Oh well - always a challenge and Shirley's second was a cracking shot (as was Mick's first). Don't forget Shirley if you wish to catch up you can watch it on BBC i-player.
