Match Reports & Update

Friday's match between Ted and Dave (a bit of a local derby) was overshadowed by the fan who knocked Ted' goalie to the floor, but the result was a 1-1 draw with Dave equalising to leave Ted waiting for a win since August and paying a lot for the curry.

As predicted in the Match of the Day, Kelly couldn't keep a clean sheet and Margs took the advantage coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2.  Top of the table Keith visited Mick but Mick's team scored two in two minutes but despite having 13 shots on goal and the home team going down to 10 men, Keith couldn't extend his lead at the top and lost 3-1.  Pete's team visiting Chris scored a late equaliser to make it 1-1 and go joint 'free curry' with Keith. Pete has had a run of 5 wins and a draw which has seen his curry bill diminish whilst Chris has added to his expense as he has failed to win in four of the last five matches.

Andy hosted Sue and with two goals in the first half, Sue's consolation in the 2nd half meant Andy is the one actually paying the least for his curry something Sue would have done if the result had been reversed. Paula had a 2-0 lead at home to Millwall but a handball on the line saw her team down to 10 men and the visitors scored from the resulting penalty just before half time and again in the second half to leave Paula with just one point from the game but joining Andy on the least to pay front. After all the banter between Amy and Jan and Jan snapping up various players it was a match to look out for. Jan the visitor took and early lead buy Amy's sub Proschwitz scored 4 minutes after coming on and headed the ball into the net on 90 + 2.38 minutes to give Amy the points and Jan the biggest chunk of the bill (increase of 2.5p since last time).

In the middle of the pack Colin's Middlesborough inflicted a 1-0 defeat away at Dan's, Jim scored late on to take a share of the points at home to Shirley, Anna's managerless Burnley won 1-0 at home to Lyn's Blackpool, Scott's Watford scored a 90th minute penalty to win 1-0 over Peterborough and Jane's Charlton lost at home to Barnsley 0-1.
