What no team of the week...

So no team of the week.. basically it is written but on the PC at work :-). So instead a little more on the Owen Coyle situation - after all Margs (Bolton) V Kelly (Bristol City) is match of the day.  As Bolton have registered more goal attempts than any other club in the division, with 68 of 131 being on target and Kelly's team have not managed a clean sheet in any competition this term I'm optimistic. However, City have unleashed fewer shots on target than any other club in the Championship (42), but they have been the most efficient with a goal every 2.33 attempts on target. It could be anyone's game.

So Owen Coyle's finest hour was allegedly Bolton's FA Cup semi-final (first since 1958) against Stoke at Wembley on 17 April 2011 having taken charge of the team 15 month earlier after walking out on Burnley in January 2010 (sorry Anna). They were thrashed 5-0 but they were 8th in the Premier league although losing their final five games meant they slipped to 14th.

Bolton under Coyle

Overall - P 126 W 42 D 24 L 60
League - P 106 W 31 D 21 L 54 (114 of 318 points possible)
Twice finished 14th in Premier League before relegation by one point last season
Reached the FA Cup semi-final in 2011
Was in charge for 1,005 days
2012-13 season three wins from 10 games. Scored 13 and conceded 16 despite the statistic above of having registered more goal attempts than any other club in the division, with 68 of 131 being on target

A journalist said he once got a text off Coyle that featured a smiley face :-) - that's nice.

So that's the end of OC - I just hope it isn't Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Whilst OGS would be random on the training top, he is someone who makes me cringe and the hairs stand up on the back of my neck at the mention of his name. Why? I have no idea but perhaps it is because he looks unnaturally young. Whatever it is I won;t be mentioning him or watching Bolton games if he is the guy in the dug out. I think I would have to go with the expense of the curry and hope Bolton got relegated so I could change team!!
