It is FA Cup weekend, hence less matches and with the snow around, maybe these won't get played either so I haven't selected a Match of the Day. If you play and win - then it's you !

Match Reports & Updates

In Friday night's fixture and the Match of the Day, Pete continued his push for a cheap curry as his Leicester team beat Colin's Middlesborough 1-0.  In Saturday's early kick off, the local derby (literally) between Jim's Derby and Mick's Forest, the away team took the lead and looked comfortable but Derby's Jamie Ward returned from injury to score the equaliser. Mick's manager is looking for new signings in the transfer window.

At the top Keith's Cardiff extended his lead to 10 points after a 2-1 win away at Lyn's Blackpool.  Amy's Hull drew 1-1 away at Peterborough, the home team scoring a late penalty after an earlier own goal, which allowed Pete to join Amy on points and Paula's Palace drew 0-0 at home to Marg's Bolton meaning Paula didn't get to match them on points.  Scott's Watford had the most impressive score of the day with a 4-0 win over Andy's Huddersfield, scoring a first half penalty and three more goals in the second half. Andy's team has won in twelve now.

Anna's Burnley won 2-0 away at Millwall and Jane's Charlton 2-1 away at Shirley's Blackburn, a defeat for the new manager in charge.  There were score draws for Chris's Birmingham V Dan's Brighton and Jan's Ipswich against Barnsley, 2-2 and 1-1 respectively whilst Sue's Wolves were held to a 0-0 draw away at Ted's Sheffield Wednesday.  Kelly's Bristol City had their new manager Sean O'Driscoll in charge, formerly at Mick's Forest as they visited Dave's Leeds but the home team won 1-0 leaving Kelly firmly at the bottom and picking up the biggest bill. (Keep checking them reports Kelly and keep saving the money!)

Match Reports & Update - Kelly sacks manager as she hits rock bottom!

On Friday night Shirley's Blackburn announced Michael Appleton ( he of Pompey fame) as their new manager (nicked from Lyn's Blackpool) prior to kick off. A first half penalty saw the visitors (Shirley's Blackburn) take the lead but Sue's Wolves with new manager Dean Saunders scored in the middle of the second half to take a share of the points.

Jan's Ipswich are still improving and he held leaders Keith's Cardiff to a 0-0 draw.  However, Amy's Hull, Paula's Palace and Colin's Middlesborough all failed to take advantage losing 1-3 to Ted's Sheff Wednesday, 1-0 to Anna's Burnly and 1-2 to Scott's Watford respectively.  Pete's Leicester caught Paula and Colin up with a 0-4 defeat of Bristol City after which Kelly sacked her manager as she has won just six matches all season - the curry is just costing too much!

Dan's Brighton scored two first half goals to beat Jim's Derby and Mick's Forest scored a late goal to win 2-1 over Peterborough and give new manager McLeish his first win.  Dave's Leeds had a shock 2-0 defeat against Barnsley with two goals in three minutes.  Jane's Charlton beat Lyn's Blackpool 2-1, the visitors consolation goal coming in the 90th minute and allowed Jane to over take Lyn in the table. Margs' Bolton had a game of two penalties with Millwall the final score 1-1.  Andy's Huddersfield against Chris' Birmingham has the same score line - both goals from open play Birmingham's on 45 minutes just before half time and the home team's on 90 minutes just before the final whistle.
