Saturday saw the rest of the teams play and Amy's Hull gain an important away win at Andy's Huddersfield. Mick's Forest drew 2-2 with Dan's Brighton (mick scoring an injury time winner to preserve the unbeaten status under manager Billy Davies) but apart from that it was home wins all round.
Dave’s Leeds lost 3-0 away at Jan’s Ipswich and the result saw Warnock quit as manager as he didn’t want CCC next year – premiership was his aim. Despite taking a 2-0 lead Margs’ Bolton lost 3-2 away to Jane’s Charlton after a comeback which included a winning penalty and Colin’s Middlesborough generously gave Sue’s Wolves an own goal and despite Colin equalising twice Sue took the home win 3-2 . Ted’s Sheffield Wednesday helped his budget winning 2-1 at home to Barnsley and Peterborough had the same score at home to Keith’s Cardiff, scoring two late penalties to dent his lead at the top.
On Monday, Keith’s Cardiff regained form beating Shirley’s Blackburn 3-0 but Paula’s Palace had another poor performance and lost 1-0 away at Lyn’s Blackpool and Pete lost again with a 2-0 defeat away at Barnsley. Jim’s in form Derby beat Dave’s Leeds 2-1 away and Sue’s travelling Wolves beat Chris’s Birmingham 2-3 in the local derby. Anna’s Burnley held Mick’s Forest to a 1-1 draw and at the bottom Kelly’s Bristol City and Ted’s Sheffield Wednesday fought it out for a similar score, Kelly scoring an injury time equaliser. Jan’s Ipswich travelled to Millwall for a goal-less draw.
Tuesday night saw Margs’ Bolton improve on the weekend performance with a 1-0 win at home to Andy’s Huddersfield, but Amy’s Hull failed to follow her previous success and lost by the same goal difference at home to Scott’s Watford who are just one point behind Amy in the table. Dan’s Brighton drew 0-0 at home to Jane’s Charlton and it was the same result for Colin’s Middlesborough at home to Peterborough.
Sue’s Wolves and Jim’s Derby were the only teams to capitalise at the weekend and earn 6 points with two wins and Paula’s Palace, Pete’s Leicester, Dave’s Leeds and Andy’s Huddersfield all suffered two defeats.
