Jim’s Derby travelled to Keith’s Millwall and thrashed him 1-5 (the result of the day) and kept him firmly at the bottom of the table on goal difference although Margs’ Bolton was on the same points after losing 0-1 at home to Dave’s Leeds in the match of the day. It is Bolton’s worst start in 50 years and they are yet to score in the second half of a match this season. In the other match at the bottom Ted’s Sheffield Wednesday and Kate’s Yeovil drew 1-1, Ted having lead at halftime. With the same score-line was Scott at home to Paula and Anna at home to Shirley, whilst Andy and Amy shared a 0-0 draw.

At the top and from one seaside to another, Lyn’s Blackpool won 1-2 taking the led twice at Kevin’s Bournemouth.  Pete’s Leicester beat Sue’s Wigan 2-0 with a goal in either half and the second being a penalty and Kelly’s QPR beat Chris’s Birmingham 1-0 in a hard fought match.  Neil’s Barnsley gifted Mick’s Forest an own goal allowing Mick’s team to clinch a 3-2 win, scoring the winner in the 84^th minute.

Sunday's match between Jane and Dan was uninspiring and ended up with both teams down to 10men at the final whistle.

CCC results & update

Not sure how it happened but Shirley beat me convincingly with two goals either side of my solitary one so I am looking for my first win and at the moment an expensive curry! Lyn and Kelly maintained their position at the top with wins over Scott's Watford and Dave's Leeds respectively.  Mick and Pete faltered with defeats to Sue and Paula.  Keith picked up a vital point away at Brighton making him level with me and Ted's Sheff Wed got a vital point to move away from the bottom.

CCC last weekend's update

So whilst 11 of the CCCers were enjoying the sunshine down in Portsmouth, the rain in London caused the first casualty of the season with Amy's visit to Paula abandoned at half time due to a waterlogged pitch.  Shirley was high scoring against Neil as was Andy against Kevin.  Keith's team scored after 10 hours of playing but their first goal was actually an own one!  Keith only managed to secure a share of the points in the 87th minute with a penalty  Dan beat Anna but her team were down to 10 men.
