Another day... another venue

First day at the Olympic Park.  Six of us went to the Hockey. Got a bit wet when it chucked it with rain, but dryed out in the warm sun later. Two matches but none for any of our countries.. India V South Korea and Netherlands V Germany.

Back row - great view and very civilised with wine and cider the tipple of the day (one or the other - not both together).

Loads of flags on display but no Romanians for Lyn ro have her photo taken with.

Super Saturday

We had a Sports Bar going on... three different screens and ale and cider on tap.  What a great day and fabulous night :-)

Medal Table update

Gold
Colin and Asta are joint leaders on 4 golds. Kate is cose behind with 3. Jan, James and Dave have 2. Lyn, Amy, Ted, Dave H, Keith (yes the running has started) and Kev all have 1 gold.

Silver
Leads with 4 and Sue is just behind with 3. Jan, Christine, Pete and Lisa have 2 and James, dave B. Amy, Ted, Chris, Darren, Jon, Kelly, Dan and Rich have all earnt 1 bronze medal.

Bronze
Christine retains her lead with 5 bronze medals, with amy on 4 and Kate and Andy on 3.  James Lyn, Ted, Dave H and Chris have 2. With one bronze medal are Jan, Dave B, Sue, Pete, Darren, Jon, Kelly, Dan, Jane and Anna.

So yet to get off the mark are:
Margs, Tess, Shirley, Mick, Gillian, Maddy and Paula.

Meet the Nations - part 2

Off to Earls Court for the grudge match of Dave V Margs in the indoor volleyball. Dave found some friendy Polish supporters on the train - they were impressed by his shirt.

I found another Polish guy and loved his shirt but you need the right flag..

I then found a friendly Argentinian lady who had a lovely name which I can't remember and knew I couldn't spell when she first told me. Hello, if you check out the blog to see the photo.

medal update

So what are the latest standings?

Gold - Colin celebrates being top of the Gold medals with his tally of 4. Three won in the shooting by his golden girl Yong Suk Jo and one by Un Sil Kwon in the archery.

Silver - Lyn celebrates being top of the Silver medals with a tally of 3. Two in ladies Judo, Alina Dumitru and Corina Caprioriu (48kg and 57kg respectively) and Men's 69kg weightlifting.

Bronze - Christine celebrates being top of the Bronze medals with a tally of 5.  Two in women's synchronised diving (3m and 10m), one in Men's 81kg Judo, one in men's 100m freestyle swimming and the fifth in women's 63kg weightlifting.

Lyn also wins the most points competition. But it is early days...
