In the early kick off on Saturday, Anna’s team benefitted from a Margs own goal early on but before half time Margs had equalised to 1-1, the final score. Sue’s Wigan had an emphatic start to their Championship season with a 4-0 win away at Neil's Barnsley, probably helped by the fact that the home team were reduced to 10men when there sub was red carded after just 5 minutes on the pitch. Lyn’s Blackpool beat Amy’s Doncaster 3-1 having taken the lead, let Amy’s team equalise and then scoring two late goals to clinch the win.
There were 2-1 home wins for Dave V Dan, Kelly V Ted, Jane V Jan and Kevin V Paula. Kevin had already taken the lead twice before Paula’s team was reduced to 10 men; Dave, Kelly and Jane were all trailing 0-1 before Dave’s team scored a 90th minute winner, Kelly’s team scored two goals in three minutes and Jane’s scored one in each half to clinch the points. Pete’s Leicester secured a 2-1 away win at Colin’s Middlesborough although I can’t tell you much about it as the BBC shows Middlesborough as having two goals to their credit!
It was a close match between Mick’s Forest and Andy’s Huddersfield, with Mick securing a 1-0 in the second half. Scott won 0-1 away at Chris’s Birmingham and new to the CCC, Kate’s Yeovil managed the same scoreline away at Keith’s Millwall with an 88th minute winner.
The Sunday fixture saw Jon go ahead with a first half penalty but Shirley’s Blackburn equalise with an 89th minute goal.
