CCC match reports & updates

Tuesday night's matches saw 1-1 draws for Keith V Pete (Cardiff V Leicester) at the top and Dave (Leeds) V Peterborough lower down the table. Keith's team needed a stoppage time goal from the substitute to enable him to take a share of the points. Dan's Brighton lost 2-1 away at Barnsley, conceding a penalty in 64th minute and having their late penalty saved by the home keeper.

In Saturday's early kick-offs, Jane's Charlton lost 2-0 at home to Millwall, with substitute Jermaine Easter scoring with his first touch of the ball for his new Millwall club having joined on loan from Crystal Palace on Friday. Andy's Huddersfield team took the lead away at Dave's Leeds then Dave equalised just 6 minutes later but Andy grabbed a late winner to win 2-1 away.

Keith's Cardiff saw a return of form as they visited Ted's Sheffield Wednesday and bet them 2-0. Scott's Watford lost 1-0 away at Barnsley and some how Marg's Bolton suffered the same result away at Jan's Ipswich, an 88th minute goal. Lyn's Blackpool continued their poor run with a 0-1 defeat at home to Peterborough a scoreline matched by Colin's Middlesborough at home to Chris's Birmingham. Derby ended an 8-game win-less run by beating Pete's Leicester 2-1, two first half goals for Jim' team.

In the biggie at the bottom, Sue's Wolves scored an own goal giving an early lead to Kelly's visiting Bristol City but two goals in two minutes (76 & 78) saw Sue take the valuable three points in their 'who pays the most' battle.

In the other biggie - Amy (Hull) V Mick (Forest), the home side lead at half-time after a neat goal scored by Boyd flicking a shot over his shoulder with his back to the goal. Now interestingly Boyd failed a medical at Forest due to an 'inconclusive eye test' and his goal celebration was to make fake glasses with his fingers. Question is, did he have his back to goal because he couldn't see it even if he was facing it? Ten minutes into the second half Forest's Henderson equalised after Cox's shot came back off the crossbar. The text banter was on. was there time for Mick to clinch the three points and more importantly the glory? It appears there was, as McGugan scored in the 84th and despite Hull pressure, Mick got the points and Am got the abuse!

Sunday's fixtures saw Paula's Palace hopeful of denting Dan's Brighton's run of form and taking second spot away from Amy but it wasn't to be as Dan's team thrashed them 3-0

Dr Who had said he was embarrassed to be a Blackburn supporter, and indeed Anna's Burnley visiting Shirley's team took the lead in the first half but they had a player sent off in the second half and the home team managed to score in 90+4 minute to clinch a draw. Shirley lead the table at the start of the season - how the mighty have fallen and the bill is increasing.
