weekend match reports and results

Weekend results:

Lots of draws this weekend. 2-2 for Lyn's Blackpool V Shirley's Blackburn.  Lyn took the lead twice, both teams scored a penalty, both teams were down to 10 men and Shirley's equaliser was courtesy of a 90th minutes own goal from Blackpool's Davies. It was 1-1 for Jane's Reading V Keith's Millwall, Jim's Derby V Chris' Birmingham and Margs' Bolton V Jan's Ipswich, Margs having taken the lead. It was the same scoreline for Neil's Barnsley & Ted's Sheff Wednesday in the bottom of the table clash which leaves Ted bottom and Neil just above. Barnsley had made their worst start to a league season in 40 years but are now unbeaten in their last two games and Ted's team have experienced their most unsuccessful opening to a league season in 14 years.

At the bottom Kate skipped above Ted and Neil as her Yeovil team got their first home win of the season, a 3-1 win over Mick's Forest. Did you bet on the score-line Mick? At the top Anna's Burnley also won by two goals beating Kelly's QPR 2-0 and ending their unbeaten run.  Pete is second after his Leicester side beat Kevin's Bournemouth 2-1 and Andy's Huddersfield beat Dave's Leeds 3-2, Dave gifting Andy an own goal.

Sunday saw Paula's Charlton draw 0-0 with Sue's Wigan.

CCC Reports & Update

So my Bolton started so well and took an early lead against Ted's Sheff Wed but sadly scored an own goal 0 minutes late to gift Ted  share of the points. Mick's Forest had the same scoreline against Kevin's Bournemouth, Mick's team taking a first half lead and Kevin scoring in stoppage time so take a point.  In the other draw's Kate remains bottom after a 0-0 draw against Dan's Brighton and Kelly's QPR had lead twice against Keith's Millwall but Keith's injury time equaliser stopped Kelly claiming all three points and meant Anna was able to establish a lead of her own and have the only free curry. Anna's Burnley team won 1-0 away at Jan's Ipswich.

There were away wins for Paula's Charlton at Shirley's Blackburn (0-1) and Jim's Derby against Scott's Watford, Jim leading three times and the second consecutive win for the new manager.

In the early kick off Lyn's Blackpool beat Sue's Wigan 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Ince and Pete's Leicester beat Andy's Huddersfield 2-1, Andy's team falling to their 6th consecutive defeat (it'll get expensive Andy) and had a sending off.  Neil's Barnsley had a three goal lead by halftime and although Colin's Middlesborough scored two late goals they couldn't get enough to share the points.

In the family battle Jane's Reading beat Amy's Doncaster, the two late goals compounding the win to 4-1.  Dave's Leeds scored 4 in their match on Sunday (3 by halftime) but Chris's Birmingham was unable to score any consolation goals.

Match reports & update

Weekend matches:

Margs' Bolton finally got the winning feeling  and beat Chris's Birmingham 1-2 on the same day that Margs played volleyball for Dorking Discos and won 3-0.  But Kate's Yeovil lost 4-1 away at Colin's Middlesborough and Neil's Barnsley lost 2-0 to Kelly's QPR so they share the responsibility of the biggest cost.   At the top Anna's Burnley won 2-1 against Jane's Reading to remain cost-free along with Kelly.  Pete's Leicester remains third after a defeat to Amy's Doncaster.

Mick must surely be in the money, winning at the bookies and climbing to fourth after winning 3-1 in the late kick off against Dan's Brighton.  Jim beat Dave's Leeds by the same score-line on the day that Dave played volleyball for Dorking Discos and won 3-0. Lyn only managed a 0-0 draw against Paula's Charlton.  Neil's Bournemouth got the score of the day with 5-2 win over Keith's Millwall. Jan drew 1-1 at Ted's Sheff Wed on the same day that Jan played volleyball for Dorking Discos and won 3-0.

Sunday's match

Shirley's Blackburn took an early lead against Sue's Wigan but Blackburn's Grant Hanley was shown a red card for fighting and Shirley's team were down to 10 men. To make matters worse they gifted Sue an own goal in the second half before Sue's team scored a winner.

Anna & Kelly are on the freebie curry (just desserts after the last few seasons) but newbies Neil & Kate share the biggest cost.
